So yesterday I told you about a project I did using the Darling Monograms font as well as the Pirate's font and dingbats. It's such a simple thing to do and the different variations you can make with this project are endless. I bought these 4x6 Muslin Bags from (where else?) Etsy. There are a ton of sellers who carry them in all different sizes, just search muslin bags.
I knew I wanted a drawstring bag for Jake's party favors. I had already located the chocolate gold doubloons that he wanted to have in the bag along with an eyepatch and mini sword so I needed a really cute bag to hold all of the pirate's loot!
Once I received the bags I had thought about printing tags and tying them to the drawstring but then decided I really wanted something to iron on the front since the kids would probably just rip the tags off anyway. So this is what I came up with, the front will have the child's name on it and the back will have the thanks for coming to my party.
All I had to do to achieve this look was design what I wanted to iron onto the front and back of the bags in Photoshop. I used three different fonts...and that is all I used, just fonts! I then printed it out on this paper (I purchased mine at JoAnn's):
** Remember to flip your design or make it a mirror image before printing so that you will have the right orientation for ironing them onto the bags. **
And voila, Pirate Jake is super happy and each child will go home with a personalized treat bag from the party.
And just for fun I made this bag with a monogram on it. I am going to do these for each of the kids teachers so that on meet the teacher night they will have a little gift for them. I am going to insert a Sonic gift card and some fun straws I found that are yellow and white striped just like the red ones pictured above. It never hurts to butter the teacher up before they get to really know your children. ;)
There are twelve options for the monogram shape included with the font and you don't necessarily have to use the letters from this font but just the outlines and then you can mix and match other fonts. Was that totally confusing?
These are the shapes that are included in the Darling Monograms font:
I think these would be great for weddings, showers, birthday party favors, neighbor gifts, they could hold menus for a dinner party sitting on top of the place settings, or they could even have small mini books included and say "brag book" on the outside. I could name 50 more but I will spare you since you probably get the idea! Just a simple way to dress up any gift.
You could even add the muslin ruffles and muslin flowers from the new Pink Paislee Mistables line to them to really take them to the next level....I think that just might be my next project. I love it when I come up with an idea when I am typing up a post! ;)
Enjoy!
