we kicked it off last night during the live webshow (you can go back and view it here if you missed it) and we are super excited to share it with you for the next 12 weeks. Can you imagine completing 50 pages in just 12 weeks???? Well join us and you can!
I loved the fresh and fun vibe Heidi had going last night and I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I had a spare moment to sit down and play with it all so that is exactly what I did this morning. Wanna see what I made? I wanted to make some fun flip books for each child to be able to tell THEIR story about their summer vacation, not what I told for them in their scrapooks. So I gathered some of my favorite supplies to use right now: Tim Holtz Attacher, Decorative Edge Punch, my favorite polka dot glazed cardstock and my HOF3 printables and got to work.
I printed out some super simple 5x7 pages with the captions from this kit. And then assembled the book using titles and elements from this kit. Here is the front cover...love the "officially on vacation" overlay!
Again all the pages are super simple so that she can tell me what photos she wants to print out and attach along with her journaling.
I used lots of the page elements to dangle between the full size 5x7 pages. Just a fun splash of color between pages without adding lots of bulk.
For this page I printed out one of the overlays on transparency and layered it in front of one of the pages. That way she can just staple a 4x6 photo directly behind the overlay!
A side view of all the pages.
To finish my book off I used a decorative book ring, added some tulle, my chandy crystal from the heart box and a button.
This was a super fast way to put together a little treasure book for summer. I can see her stapling tickets from the waterpark, wristbands from the zoo....just really anything she wants to document and show when she returns to school in August...and guess what, when they assign that project "what did you do over your summer break" on the first week of school....we are DONE!
And don't forget to join me next Wednesday live from Texas...can't wait to show you your next three page ideas!
Enjoy!
