So I mentioned the other day that Tim and I had emailed and he said the grid blocks he debutted would indeed fit our long border stamps...and I just have to say they are perfect! They are light weight, thin, acrylic blocks with grids that help you stamp straight and get your placement. (That is a new concept for me since I always stamp crooked!;) Here are the sizes they come in:
I wanted to play around with them as soon as I received them...so I jumped right in, started stamping and thought I would share my results here with you in a little tutorial. Are you sick of these tags yet? I love their size and that I can do quick techniques on them and then incorporate them into anything I am working on...cards, layouts, minibooks, etc.
Tag Supply List:
Tags, Distress Inks: mustard seed, worn lipstick, broken china, old paper, embossing ink, clear embossing powder, black archival ink, Soiree Stamps, Daily Junque Stamps, Paris Stamp, Foam Blending Tool, Grid Blocks, Repositionable Adhesive
See the long border stamps....they fit on the 4"x8" grid block to perfection.
I am pretty random with my stamping. I try to start with my larger stamps and then work down to smaller sizes.
Now is where the fun begins. I did color my silhouette flower stamps and you can see how I did that here.
I wanted to create my own resist over the top of what I had already stamped to give the tag another layer so I used a large flourish stamp and then used my silhouette flower stamp again over the top of the flowers I had already stamped. I love the way the clear embossing make the colors really come to life.
And this is what my tag looked like after I applied the distress ink over the top to bring out the resist design.
And last but certainly not least in any way this is my production assistant, I don't know if I have properly introduced her and her duties here on the blog. She helps with all my photos and styling. In fact she is sitting in my lap overseeing this post right now....so please excuse any typos! ;) She is cute though and works for capri suns and goldfish....it's a pretty sweet deal for both of us!
Have a great weekend!
