Merry Christmas...

a little early! As my husbands 1st surgery is tomorrow morning and after that I will probably be away from the computer for a bit I thought I would share our christmas card...or should I say cyber card since I didn't actually get them sent out this year with everything that is going on.

To sweeten the deal to vote for me...

I am going to first give you a little tutorial on these tissue paper crystal ornaments and then there is a giveaway at the end if you would take two seconds out of your day and vote for me here. You can read more about it in the last post but I would love it if you could vote once a day!

Now on to the ornaments...

I came across these really cool heavy crystals (not plastic) and went a little crazy ordering them online. Am I the only one that does this? I had no idea what I was going to do with them but knew I wanted them so I purchased several in different colors and shapes and they arrived at my doorstep 2 days later and I shoved them in a drawer waiting for inspiration to hit.  Fast forward to my girls trip to Houston in November, Tracy and I stumbled across these really cool vintage books (ask Tracy how she tried to hide them from me before she realized there were more, lol! That's how you know they are a true junkin' friend...trying to hoard the good stuff before the other one discovers it)

I first found a few of my favorite stamps (here and here) and using black archival ink stamped onto the tissue paper that was inside the vintage books. I then covered the backs of the crystals (which are flat) with glossy accents and then adhered them down on the tissue paper holding them in place about 30 seconds. 

After that dried I trimmed around the shapes or just tore and then sanded any rough edges. 

Now for the santa claus ornament I followed the same steps and then once it was dried and trimmed I added two different colors of glam (Tinsel Town and Golden Goddess) to the back side of the ornament. Just a little sparkle shows through and I love it!

These would be fun to add photos printed on glossy paper, hof3 backgrounds...the possibilities are endless!

With the holidays upon us and the hubby scheduled to be in the hospital on Christmas I have been trying to come up with things to keep the kids and myself busy and not dwelling on him not being here and of course I came up with another of my hairbrained ideas and was hoping you would help.

Post show wrap up...

Can you believe the amazing things that Heidi showed tonight....those YUDU stockings were so darn cute, I loved them! And are you posting comments here to win the YUDU? I always like to give you more photos and the info for my projects so that you have it all in one place so here goes:

These two envelopes I made to put giftcards in for Jake's teachers. I first double printed the Christmas Cheer backgrounds onto my Epson Premium Matte paper which you guys know I heart!

Then I printed the envelope template I wanted to use onto each page and cut them out.

I then started embellishing each envelope. 

For this santa card I started with a felt snowman sticker from LYB. I added chandelier glam and then adhered it to the flap of the card. Then I started working on my bell. 

I added some pink lady glaze and then covered that with this new glitter I found at Hobby Lobby. It is so cool, it is called poly flake glitter and it is so fine and sticks to anything! This is what it looked like after I finished:

Just don't be a dork and knock your glaze over like I did....OY!

It was so much fun to tuck the sonic gift card in and sweet Jakey even wrote a note...well wrote is stretching it but he made a pretty picture to go in it. ;)

Then there was this one....which actually turned out to be my favorite.

You know how I love me some dangle elements...lol! And this one was fun to do. I first used some be positive and espresso bean glam on the bell....gave it a really cool color and sparkle.

The bell was gold to start with...and then I added these two colors with my fan brush.

I then added some 7gypsies chain and a few vintage baubles, and last but not least I cut out words from the christmas carols and dangled them from a jump ring.

Last show of the year is tonight and you will not want to miss what we have planned....super simple things you can make with a big WOW factor and not a lot of $$ or time. How cool is that?!?

Such inspiration....

I always love it when I see others create using our products. Sometimes when you design a product it is hard for you to see past what is in your head but it is so refreshing to see what others do with it. Case in point....Nichol Magouirk. A friend of mine forwarded a link to me and said check this out...and I did and I LOVED IT!

You will want to see her December Daily book she is creating using the Parisian Anthology album and sheet protectors. 

Go check out her progress on her blog and I am sure you will be as amazed as I was....such fun and easy ideas!

Envelope Template....

is now up on the site. And I have to say I love these and have already made one for each child's teacher and put their gift card inside with a note from them. I glammed several bells with this color after painting them white and I had a ton of fun. (Several people asked about the bells, I get mine at Hobby Lobby in the kids craft area, they sell them in bulk in several different color ways. You get 30 in a package for $5.99, and of course they are usually 1/2 price!) Think Christmas, New Year's, Birthday....any time you need a card really...this kit can be used over and over again.

Print on your favorite patterned paper or choose your favorite HOF3 backgrounds. They all mix and match and are fun to use.

Embellish with apple misted ribbon, some flair and your HOF3 "gift" from last nights show.

Or add some glaze and then immediately sprinkle it with art glitter....bada bling!

Just a recap...

I know it is hard to see all the details on the webshow so I thought I would post more photos:

First I printed all of my HOF3 Christmas Cheer backgrounds....one on each side; then I printed the templates I wanted to use over that. The cone template can be found here. And the envelope template is here. I even took the Parisian Anthology papers and ran my HOF3 backgrounds over that paper as well. See the gray dots with the red poinsetta pattern printed over the top? Love it!

On this card I used this paper plus the freebie from tonight's show! And you guys know how much I love anything with text on it! Also used the Parisian Anthology flair!

This is a shot of what the surprise on the inside is....the printing on top of the parisian patterned paper....love printing on top of existing patterned paper...unexpected!

On this one I used the same flair, but put art glitter over the top for a different effect....love the sparkle! I also tried this and it worked just as well.

This card just makes me smile. I double printed our background over the Parisian Anthology paper and then used the Barn Door distress ink on the resist side....love this red for Christmas!

All three of these envelopes come on one page. Love the tiny one....so fun for packages or scrapbooking embellishments. 

This one I am taking to a girlfriends house for her annual ornament exchange. Just thought this was a fun way to "wrap" my ornament. These would also be great for place settings, put candy in them for neighbor gifts, teachers, mail man.....anyone you want to surprise with a fun gift!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

we have been trying to whip this place into shape for Christmas. Finished my mantle the other day and I must say I like the way it turned out. I picked up a few new things for it when I was in Houston last month with Tracy and my sweet friend Katia made me that sweet house when I was there....I love it!
