me. As I sit here and type this it is now my 35th birthday and I think I would probably rather forget it than celebrate it. I have never been a big birthday person...it was never a big deal in our family so I guess I have carried that with me into adulthood. And to top it all off....Jake is super sick. So sick in fact that we went to the kiddie ER on Friday night and then to the doctor again today. Bottom line, he has two different viruses and a double ear infection. Poor baby....I have never seen him this quiet and still for so long. Welcome to daycare Jake!
So...to celebrate my day I am staying at home with my buddy and will try to administer a little TLC. We shall see how that goes....wish me luck!
I think I am finally recovering from my journey to South Africa. It was such a wonderful trip, I can't say enough about the wonderful women who put this event on...so thank you Louise and Glenda. The classes in both Johannesburg as well as Cape Town were wonderful...the delegates were so warm and friendly, you couldn't have asked for more.
Here are a few pics of the trip:
This little shop that we found was so amazing, it had the coolest stuff in it and I think we spent quite a bit of time in there. It was so small inside but we still managed to all cram ourselves in there and do some retail damage!
And this place...if only I could have shipped a ton of stuff home with me. There was a turquoise door that had my name all over it...made me so sad to leave it behind.
This is my new friend Kyle...he helped us throughout the entire event. We couldn't have done it without him and he was so fun to hang out with. This is the night we watched the sun set over the water in Cape Town and had a fabulous meal at a restaurant called Blues...so yummy!
All of the places that we stayed were amazing:
This is Heidi and I at the Cheetah experience...so cool to be able to get so close to them....as you can see, their trainer was so comfortable she actually fell asleep while we were petting them. We were just hoping we didn't need her while she was sleeping, lol!
This is what it looks like when you travel with way too much luggage!
And these are some of the lovely people I had the privilege of hanging out with and getting to know better:
So thank you Glenda, Louise, Gary, Kyle, Val, Debbie, Adrienne, Amy and Heidi...I had an unforgettable time!
just returning and I am overwhelmed....missed my babies so much. I was so incredibly excited to go and pick each of them up at school today.
I will give a full recap when I can come up for air a bit but I will leave you with these...such a beautiful place and even better was the lovely people we got to hang out with.
